So the fiance' and I are in the early stages of planning a honeymoon for late March 2022. We will likely be flying out of New Orleans.

We are looking for a spot in the Virgin Islands, or similar like Turks, that has an all inclusive package. Not a huge resort with families and kids running around. A private smaller place off the beaten path but on the beach would be great. The fiance' really wants an over the water bungalow but I don't care.

I would love to have the chance to go to the Soggy Dollar Bar if there are any resorts near there.

Any advice or do's and don'ts? Trying not to spend a ton of money on this one.

There are no resorts on Jost van Dyke. However, you can charter a boat for a day trip and some boats offer larger tours (the Kekoa comes to mind).

I would suggest Peter Island, BVI. It's not cheap but it meets all of your criteria to a T and it is very, very nice. They haven't reopened yet but your dates may very well work. I'd contact them soon.

Doesn't really mesh with the criteria you put forth.

Then the Virgin Islands may not be a destination you want to go to! The flight alone will cost you some coin!

That looks awesome, but the rates in March are way too high for what we are looking for. Maybe we will have to settle for something less extravagant. I’ve been to the BVI before and spent the day outside of Jost Van Dyke on a sailboat and that was the most beautiful place I’ve been to so I’m dying to take the fiancé down there somewhere.

March is still high season. It is an amazing place.

What about Anegada Beach Club? It's really cool and if it fits the budget you can get one of the beachside luxury tents. Anegada is definitely more our of the way and it's a really cool island to explore. All of the other islands in the USVI and BVI are volcanic while Anedaga is a coral island. Beautiful beaches there.

I actually looked at Anegada Beach Club and really like it! My only concern is the island lacks a lot of fun stuff to do. I can see my fiance' getting bored to death just hanging at the beach all day with me lol. How easy is it to travel to Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke from there? Would love to explore the baths and go to the fun bars.

The more and more I think about this maybe my fun ideas would be better for a group trip where we charter a small sailboat for a week and island hop and we should do something easier for the honeymoon...

It's a haul to Jost and VG from Anegada.

If you stay on St. John at the Westin you can day trip to Jost. Closest thing to AI you'll find on St. J.

Jost Van Dyke isn't suitable for a long stay unless you sail in and pick a mooring.

Look into Peter Island for the stay.

Find your way to Anegada, rent a moped and drive around to Cow Wreck

Also go to Virgin Gorda, see the rocks and have lunch at Hog Heaven. Excellent views. You can see Richard Branson's island from there.

There's a ferry that runs from Tortola to VG and JVD.

There's also a small prop plan that flys to Anegada from the Tortola airport. Short flights and the descent is awesome.

Agree to disagree. We love Jost and pretty much know most of the people on the island at this point. White Bay is a different group to party with every day and Foxy's is the same for the nightlife.

Also thinking Tortola or St. John since they are in the middle of everything and we can take day trips to the other islands.

This is tough. I wish I knew a vacation planner where I can just say this is my budget and here are the things we want to do, hook us up lol

Tortola or St. John is a great location. Just realize that if it's a resort you want (which I would not do) then The Westin is the only choice on St. John. Tortola is much bigger and has much more hustle and bustle but also comes with the things that come with more people.

I get what you’re saying but for someone who’s never been, it limits his ability to jump around.

Also. If you stay on Tortola, check the cruise ship arrival dates. You want to plan around that.

Yep. Valid point.

There is the ferry to Tortola from JVD but that's about it.

Looked into this and it's only villas. You have to rent a whole apartment and it's very expensive. We really just need a room.
