Houston Astro’s Game

Planning a weekend in Houston with my daughter.
She’s 7 and loves swimming so I am thinking of taking her to Lagoon Fest water park in Texas City just outside Houston Friday for a full day. Staying near there both Thursday night before and Friday after a full day outdoor.
Travel into Houston and stay near Minute Maid park on Saturday.
Any suggestions on places to stay near both locations, where to get decent tickets for the game, any anything else to do in that area is appreciated.
Trip will be in early August.

There's plenty of hotels near the ballpark. Just depends on how much you want to pay. Marriott Marquis has the Texas-shaped lazy river that my kids enjoy.
Stubhub will have the most inventory of the secondary market for tickets. I also suggest joining the Astros Ticket Marketplace Facebook group. I've bought several tickets through people on there, including the game a couple days ago.
Astros Ticket Office still has some for sale as well since no remaining games are currently sold out.

where to get decent tickets for the game,
There are 3 Astros ticket groups on FB that have multiple season ticket holders who sell tickets all the time. They are generally well vetted and scammers get blocked from the site really quickly.

Astros Ticket Markerplace - Buy and Sell
I used to have season tickets and sold here. I've also bought here many times. You will get better tickets for the price as they mostly sell below the Astros site and there are no fees because you pay by Zelle, Venmo, etc.
If you stay at the Hampton (not a bad choice...unless you want to spend big bucks and stay at the Marriott Marquis with the rooftop pool and Texas shaped lazy river), walk over to Discovery Green and let her play in the splashpad.
