That AI system exists and already used by my local doctor

Both of the big systems in Houston (Methodist and MH) use AI for charting. Most hospital systems use it to some degree.

Her money goes with the gambling winnings into the new company.

My take is that it rolled out at the consumer level too quickly. Every tech company is invested and trying to earn revenue off of it but it’s not accurate enough to be relied upon. Its usefulness is often misplaced in a way that doesn’t add value.

One thing that amazes me is that with this technology, you can still make typos on your phone and text predict is shite.

100%

I used it to make an itinerary for my NYC trip in October. It was very helpful, but it doesn't replace doing research myself and reviewing what chatgpt came up with in great detail. AI tried to send me to the Met on a day that it's closed. It's just not very accurate.

Drive up the Yukon Hwy from Skagway. Wife and drove up to emerald lake this summer and it was incredible

Either drive or use Chilkoot Tours (Not the cruise ship excursion) to take the train one direction and shuttle the other. The shuttle holds like 15 people so it's not a lot and they stop along the way to see things.

Agree on the small boat. We actually used Jayleen's Alaska. She's the daughter of either Harv or Marv (those aren't their real names) and she grew up on the island and had her own skiff to get around when she was 12 or so. It was a small boat as well.

Same here! I would not have ever heard of this show. Sounds good!

Most people are more annoying than his dog(s).

Anyone who loves dogs like Herbie can't be bad.

Day care is expensive as hell and they know people will pay it. Yay destruction of traditional familial roles.

Plenty women out there making more than their husbands. Mostly doubtful that it's cheaper for her to stay home.

Very much a you need to have been born here to get into the right clubs/krewes. Hard to attract large corporates if you tell the CEO he's not welcome in your club.

Houston on the other hand is a place that welcomes everyone and doesn't really care about your background or where you went to college/high school. Only what you've achieved.

Louisiana is friendly, but you're not one of us unless you grew up there or lived there a really long time.

It all goes along with what I see every time I go home to N. La or to BR...I feel like I'm going back in time at least 20 years...probably more like 30. It's lifestyle, attitudes, everything. It's not just leadership. Hardly anyone in the state wants to go forward. Many people who live there still wish for the past and have a hard time with change. Look at Houston, Atlanta, Nashville...constantly changing and looking at new things. That reflects the attitudes of the people who live there, not just the govt officials.

Sun Records wanted to build a recording studio in town to capitalize on the success of Elvis Presley and the Louisiana Hayride, but the city leaders didn’t want it. Here’s a 15 minute video that some locals produced 10-15 years ago about it Shape of Shreveport

100% - left out Nashville. Add to this that Shreveport had "Stan the Record Man Lewis," who was a powerful force in the music business and well known nationwide. He was one of the largest record distributors of independent labels in the country in the 50s - 70s. KWKH radio was well known in the business as well for kicking off careers with the Hayride, which started as a radio show.

Shreveport leaders didn't want any part of it.

But that's not the original claim on this thread. The original claim is that there is something unique about getting your insurance from your employer that drives prices up, and I don't think there is, and nobody has posted anything yet that has changed my mind on that.

There's a lot longer answer and it's more complex than I care to write, but when the consumer doesn't actually pay for the product, the price always goes up over time. When a consumer only has to pay a $100 copay they don't care about the overall price. They don't care about services being repeated. They don't care about how necessary those services are. Example: 40 years ago, people used to actually go and get their xrays and take them to a different doc or from the hospital to the doc. Now, more xrays are always done...added cost. Consumer doesn't see the actual bill and doesn't care.

The same thing has happened with universities and student loans.

Wow, that ending was worse than the LOST ending.

What were you hoping for? My daughter in law, daughter, and I all thought they absolutely nailed the ending. El had to die. Them playing DnD and telling that story of the Mage, a new round of younger brothers and sisters playing Dnd...I loved the ending.

Yeah, Dustin's speech was too much, but it didn't ruin it. The older kids on the roof or wherever was fine. It was just, hey, we've moved on and we are ok. That was all they needed. The town has no clue what really happened because it all was just a big "earthquake."

There were things I didn't like about this season. Season 1 and the mall season (3?) were my favorites. But I loved the end. They did so much better than many other major series. We also loved the bit with kid Henry and the man with the case.
According to MLB on Fox…we fricked.

100%. I've been watching this movie and it's been my favorite since I was around 25, when my first child was born. It hits harder every year! I used to watch it with my hubby and he'd laugh at me a little when I cried. He passed away 11 years ago and I watch it by myself while doing the final wrapping and baking of things on Christmas Eve. It's usually pretty late at night and I ugly cry so bad. Don't nobody wanna see me cry like that!

Yes, I did love Eddie in season 4, but most of my friends loved season 3. It still had that humor that was around so much in the early seasons. It still really felt 80s. After that, it lost a lot of the kitsch that made it so fun.

Flooding the labor pool for jobs like painters, framers, concrete workers, and farm hands with people willing to live 10 to a single family home and work for the cash equivalent of $3-7/hour has certainly resulted in jobs Americans could be doing evaporating and Americans losing opportunities. This results in increased welfare dependency which has certainly driven a lower quality of life

Have you been to Houston? I can assure you this is not what is happening here. Jobs are plentiful and anyone who wants to work is working. The only people who are making minimum wage are the lowest janitorial and fast food workers. Yes, the illegals have cornered the lawn business, but nobody else wants to do that job for what we want to pay. If someone charged more, many people (me) would just start doing the work myself. Without the illegals, we do not have a large enough labor pool to do the work in our city.

100% One of the things I loved about Rizo and Savannah were that they both would not hesitate to take each other out at the end to guarantee themselves the win.

But how stupid of them all (except for Christina) to not be able to make fire easily. Anyone that thinks they might be on Survivor should practice that skill. It's easy to get the materials and learn this. So stupid of Rizo and Savannah for them both to be so over confident that they think they wouldn't need that skill.
