I've seen bits and pieces of this show, and it's funny as shite. I have it ready to record, but am I gonna be lost coming in so late?

You wont' be lost but you'll miss some of the jokes.
The first 2 seasons were only about 12 episodes each. About 22 minutes without commercials. You could burn through the DVDs in a couple nights.
