Hypothetically, this is at the beginning of October.

I was thinking NYC but the vax requirement in bars and restaurants has me a little reticent.

Perfect amount of time for a Key West trip. Any longer than that and it is boring.

a dude ranch... little wild, little strange

better watch out for those man-eating jackrabbits and that killer cacti though

This sounds like something a prisoner would ask another prisoner.

Actually the keys aren’t a bad option in October. Still warm, but not super hot. Not as crowded.

Do some fishing,

Not a bad option, but that's actually where I'm flying out of.

Garden City, Kansas

I'd get a room at the Garden City Inn. I'd catch lunch at Traditions Soda & Sandwich in the brick-paved downtown. That night, I'd go catch the game at Time Out Sports Bar, or if I'm lucky the home team is in town over at Garden City Community College. The next morning, I'd wake up and go catch the sunrise at Stevens Park before heading over to the Lee Richardson Zoo.

There is just nothing like visiting Garden City, Kansas.
