I've got Jonnu Smith and I'm worried about his production ROS. There are some options on the waiver:

Dalton Schultz
Dawson Knox
Tyler Conklin
Jack Doyle
Anthony Firkser
Gerald Everett
Evan Engram
Dan Arnold
Tommy Tremble

I was trying to wait and get to #1 on the waiver, but are any of these guys worth burning my spot in line now? I'm a little intrigued by Schultz and Tremble.

If it were me I wouldn't waste waiver priority on any of those. You're pretty much taking about the same chance with most of them. Conklin and Engram intrigue me the most. You would think that Engram would see some targets in the short term with the WR injuries for NYG.

Conklin and Schultz are interesting. I wouldn’t burn waiver position on them though.

Roger that. I'll see who's left when the smoke clears tomorrow.

So nobody wanted Conklin or Schultz, I picked up both.

So the question is, which 1 guy do I keep?

Jonnu, who shares snaps in a slow NE offense.

Conklin, who will probably alternate with KJ Osborne as the 3rd choice in a good offense.

Schultz, who seems to be firmly at the top of the TE depth in a good offense.

Who would you keep?

I got Shultz if only for being in a consistent passing offense so should have steady targets

SAme position as you. I've been in the TE hellscape with Henry, Smith and Cook.

Just went with Schultz after this week. He gets more snaps than Jarwin and is clearly more of a playmaker.

Don't forget he got smoked and dropped on a 30-40 yard seem route that would have almost been a TD.

I like how much Dak went to him with all the other playmakers being covered.

Almost everybody is. The top TE's command too high of a draft position for the return they bring.

It's all a guessing game with these guys in the middle TE tiers. I THINK I would go with Conklin over Schultz. My rationale is that Schultz is in an offense with 3 WRs that get the ball as well as Dak running the ball here and there along with scripted plays for Tony Pollard too. In Minnesota it's really just mainly the two WRs and whichever RB is in the game. Osborne gets a bone now and then. But, I think Conklin may get more looks than Schultz. But, that's really just a guess, man. Honestly, I think you should just go with your gut. It's your team and I don't think there's a good argument to make any of those guys stick out over another.

For this reason, one of my leagues dropped the TE roster spot and added a WR/TE Flex. I’m grateful for this and wish my other leagues would do the same.

That's fair enough. I have the bench space, I'll just keep both for a little bit. I'll have to drop 1 soon for players coming off IR, but I've got time.

I'm not stressing about TE. It's a crapshoot. If you burned a first round pick on Kelce, congrats, but there are 2 full rounds of players who are performing better than him 3 weeks in.

That's the way to go.

I went with Conklin and now he's missing practice. Schultz will be my fallback.

Everett is on the covid list.

I think I like Schultz more. I'll hold onto Conklin if I can.

TE is hard. You can't even reliably stream that position. If you find someone that can average near 10 points per game in a ppr, I feel like that's a win.

Unless you want to spend your first round pick on Kelce and get 3rd round points out if him. Waller is well in the bottom half of the top 100 right now.

But whoever picked up Gronkowski halfway through their draft - you're a bandit.

Yeah it's close, i just think the vikings love using the TE a little bit more. But I guess McCarthy uses TE pretty well too. Conklin being the only show in town is the biggest difference i see.
