Anybody Been To Hawaii Lately?

What the frick is up with the new law enacted about 2 years ago that no one can rent their property to anyone for less than 30 days unless it’s in a “resort zone”??? Sounds like the resorts bought themselves some politicians. Can hardly find anything on VRBO for a house that can accommodate a party of 15 next summer on Oahu. I’ve also called a couple of travel agents in Hawaii, but they can’t seem to help. Any ideas?

The natives hate white people/tourists.

I saw plenty of Airbnb establishments but like a lot of places it is frowned upon

The locals despise tourists and airbnbs.
You'll find some places especially on Oahu but places of that size are going to be extreme high cost.
I just checked a random week in June for 15 people on AirBNB and there were dozens of options all over the island

I was only looking for beachfront and house. We may not be able to be so picky.

There are plenty of houses. Beach front is extremely difficult to find on Oahu.

I went in June to Kauai. I actually didn't notice any restrictions on VRBO. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt for the first 1/3, camped on Kalalau Beach for the 2nd third, and stayed in a VRBO condo for the last. We did have a tough time eating at restaurants with their reduced capacities so I would be diligent with making reservations far in advance
