Is getting fitted for irons worth the cost?

Been reading about it and I am curious if it really translates into better scoring? I play 2-3 times a month 9 months out of the year. I struggle with pushing the irons to the left and trying to get consistent yardage. I am an 11 handicap and I feel like my iron play is costing me more shots than anything.

If you are wanting to do everything listed, a fitting will definitely help you out!

Yes, you probably have no clue what shafts to get without consulting somebody that understands technology + swing mechanics. I'd pay double what it costs to get fitted again.

Golf is hard enough. Playing it without the proper equipment makes it even harder.
Based on your post, it seems that you have already identified that you need to at least have someone look at your swing and equipment.

Maybe not. Depends on what you want to accomplish. Maybe it's just analyzing your rounds and seeing the area that is deficient. FIR's? GIR's? Short game? Putting?
Maybe it will fit you for "game improvement" clubs rather than "players" clubs. That and the shaft technology would have to help.
I'm and 8 hdcp and decent ball striker. I upgraded my clubs and had a professional fitting. I did not gain any yardage, but my average dispersion is much better.
At the very least you are eliminating variables. If it's not the clubs ...

It’s the not the arrow. It’s the Indian.
That said, yes fitted clubs are worth it for
Most players.

It’s not so much an iron fitting as it is a swing weight/shaft/loft-lie/gapping fitting. Give your handicap, you should probably be in a “players distance” type set. There are several manufacturers heads that you’d prob get similar results from. Where you can get real benefit is making sure all the things I mentioned are optimized for your swing. That’s the part that makes it worth it

If you're pushing irons left I assume you're left-handed. Regardless, if you have a consistent 1-way miss with them that can easily be fixed with a different lie angle.. . more upright helps a push, flatter helps with pulls.
So, yes, it's worth it.
