This is from August, but I've seen Trumps fiscal stimulus plan mentioned on Bloomberg, Zerohedge, and LA Times today.

IBD

quote:

Largely overlooked because of the dust over his attacks on Khizr Khan, Donald Trump made an eye-opening promise on Tuesday, saying that he'd spend twice as much as Hillary Clinton on fixing roads and bridges. It's an outlandish proposal for any politician to make. But it's almost inconceivable that the Republican nominee for president would be trudging down this dreary big-government path.

Basically this is Obama 2009 Stimulus V2 and I believe Trump very recently(after the article was published) promised 1 Trillion like Bernie did. So is shovel-ready job government stimulus awesome today or so 2009?

Hmm.....nothing? Also missed in the McConnell news was that they would not be taking up term limits OR infrastructure spending. Is Mitch inferring that Trump is a GOPe cuck?

Is he going to give it to his political allies and not actually get anything built?

If not, it's nothing like obamas stimulus.

The stimulus just went to prop up big businesses. We do need to repair a lot of infrastructure in this country. Roads, bridges, and especially the power grid can't be ignored forever.

I actually agree. But then I agreed when Obama did it in 2009. In fact, of all the things we could be spending on I'd put infrastructure way up there.

Of course, like welfare, most people agree with the base concept, but the implementation is where the rubber hits the road

Projects should be prioritized by need, not price, not schedule, not how ready they are to begin, or which representative's state they're in.

Shovel Ready is just another word for Pork Barrell.
