That is a pretty big independent number, so that may be a good thing for Trump.

In 2012 we can deduce that Indy voters voted with the rest of PInellas County - Obama by 5% or so. No reason to think they'd deviate from the herd in this election either. Probably break more for Trump than the REP/DEM split TBH.
Trumpy looks good so long as his ED number REP/DEM split keeps rising

So far I'm liking what im seeing in Florida. I wonder if the MSM will start reporting this.

Hilsborough was surprisingly DEM in early voting but I don't have time to check against 2012. At least REP is up today in election day voting. Maybe it's a more traditional county since it's older (I think) and the REP voters prefer to cast ballots on election day itself.

We'll know more by like 2-3 PM
It's too early to draw conclusions yet, because as I said, the type of people who vote RIGHT when the polls open could be different from people who vote later in the day.
I'd imagine voting in the early morning hours skews elderly.

Turnout so far in Pinellas
DEM: 61.1%
REP: 63.6%
IND: 48.2%
Dems usually shoot their wad in early voting so this has to be encouraging.

Several precincts with over 70% turnout already.

Republicans are winning because they are voting before work. By 10, after the welfare folks wakeup, they will turn the tide and vote Hilary, assuming they have IDs.

Trump keeps rising in Pinellas now up 5.3k today
Hillsborough stayed flat that last update at 9AM CST

The only county to watch in Florida is Hillsborough because as that county goes so does Florida. It is the true bellweather in Florida that predicts the outcome of the election.

Even if the Dems have a surge (which is by no means a given) it seems pretty clear that Trump is outperforming Romney in Pinellas by at least 7% and growing at this point.
Hillsborough he's underperforming unless we see the ED number grow due to my theory that older people (GOP voters) vote on election day.

That's usually not the case in Florida.

As SirWinston has wisely pointed out, Hillsborough and Pinellas are virtually the same.

Election day turnout in Hillsborough thus far is only 6.7% which is surprisingly low for an election day.Only 56k votes cast out of 850k eligible voters right now.

I'm working on 2012 Hillsborough - it looks more promising for Trump than the 2016 raw numbers would indicate so far.....
