I guarantee most of the GJ voters on this board would have voted for Rand if he won the primary

Absolutely. I nearly wrote in Rand but decided to go for 5% instead

People become more socially conservative as they age. Assuming millenial/generation X trends will hold up with voters into their late 40s-60s is a mistake.

That's just not true. Give me candidates worth a frick and stop making this a two party system.

Yet...Trumpkins on TD are using two or three threads by Johnson voters as a claim that "all GJ voters need the world to know"

Enjoy your hypocrisy

So which is it? You say down with 2 party system but infer that you'd vote for 2 party system if there was a candidate you like

People become more fiscally conservative for sure. But I'm already that.

But most people in my generation are never going to be anti-gay marriage, anti-pot or pro-drug war.

It's a give-up, put the car in Park position and it always has been.

The exception is the "Dude, weed" voter.

Because he's not really a republican and would advocate a lot of Libertarian ideas.

That would be worth the vote for a 2 party system in most people's eyes. But since there is no candidate with any resemblance of a Libertarian, we vote Libertarian in effort to legitimize the party.

Plus, it would probably be more accurate to say that as one gets older, he or she is less likely to change their already existing social positions.

I doubt that the vast majority of 20 somethings that support gay marriage are suddenly going to flip when they hit 60. But if that 60 year old was always anti gay marriage, he probably won't be changing his mind.
