J. McCarthy had the highest EPA per attempt on throws of 10+ air yards in Week 1 McCarthy was 4/5 for 82 yards and 2 TDs & a perfect passer rating on 10+ yard throws
And they said all he could do was throw short at Michigan!

Start 3? You're probably fine dropping Waddle.
Any way you can make a trade to give you a more droppable piece? Maybe trade a RB and Ridley or Waddle for a slight upgrade at RB? Especially effective if you have any Bama fans in your league.

I guess we have some clarity on the Cleveland backfield at least if Judkins is still out.

Forgot which "experts" said it, but a couple are saying that Sampson still holds flex value when Judkins comes back. I have Sampson in a 12 team league that I may need him to fill in on. I'd be keeping Sampson even when Judkins does sign and play.

Did I miss something? Did his meeting with the league not go well?

I read something quick this morning that said he may return this week but didn’t sound definite.

Sources tell me Shipley does have a fractured rib and the move for Bigsby is not only to add depth at the RB position but bigsby can also help out on special teams including returning kicks...

I think that's evident. I believe 4-5 targets a game is going to be Sampson's floor. Judkins return will hurt Ford's value. The browns are going to be chasing the game a lot, so I think Sampson is pretty safe value and he's got the speed to hit some homeruns along the way.
From a fantasy perspective I'm thinking James White kind of player. Probably not going to win you many weeks, but just fine as a spot starter

As someone who started him in a couple spots because of the matchup, Ford has zero value.
That was a smash matchup and he was AWFUL.

Someone kept trying to trade me Ford in dynasty when Judkins was in limbo and I had zero interest thankfully.

Maybe a poor man’s Gibbs/Montgomery dynamic

RB Preview
Numbers to know
53.6% -- Kenneth Gainwell played over half of the offensive snaps for the Steelers in Week 1. This is bad news for Jaylen Warren and even worse news for Kaleb Johnson.
1.8 -- Kenneth Walker averaged 1.8 yards per touch in Week 1. That ranked dead last amongst the 44 players who had at least 10 touches in Week 1.
91.3% -- Chase Brown had 91% of the Cincinnati Bengals rush attempts. It does not look like his role is shrinking at all.
-0.32 -- Ashton Jeanty averaged negative yards before contact per attempt.
28.6% -- De'Von Achane had a 28.6% explosive rush rate. He was the lone bright spot in this offense.
60% -- 60% of Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushes went for five or more yards. We'll see if he can keep that up against the Green Bay Packers.
2.1 -- The Packers held the Detroit Lions offense to 2.1 yards per rush in Week 1.
19% -- Dylan Sampson saw a 19% target share in his debut. We're adding him where he is available, even with Quinshon Judkins coming back.
4.3% -- Alvin Kamara had a 4.3% target share in his first game under Kellen Moore. If this sticks, Kamara is going to have a very hard time justifying his ADP.
77% -- Javonte Williams played 77% of the snaps for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. He's a borderline starter against the New York Giants, who gave up 6.9 yards per carry to Washington.

QB Numbers to Know
47 -- The Green Bay Packers only ran 47 offensive plays in Week 1, which explains Jordan Love 22 pass attempts. Expect both numbers to go up significantly in Week 2.
0.54 -- Justin Fields led all QBs with 0.54 EPA/DB. This was one of his best games as a passer. If he repeats in Week 2, we may have a top-five Fantasy QB.
74.3% -- Only 74% of Caleb Williams passes were catchable, the second-worst mark in the league. The rushing production was great, but we did not see the Year 2 leap we are hoping for in Week 1.
6 -- Patrick Mahomes had six scrambles in Week 1, second only to Jalen Hurts. He'll need to run more to be a Fantasy starter with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy out.
12.5% -- Trevor Lawrence was only pressured on 12.5% of his drop backs, which makes his Week 1 inaccuracy all the more disturbing.
6 -- Cam Ward was sacked six times in his debut. It is going to be miserable for any QB facing the Denver Broncos this year.
10.6 -- Geno Smith 10.6 yards per attempt was second only to Lamar Jackson in Week 1. The Las Vegas Raiders passed more and more successfully than many expected.
2.8 -- Drake May averaged 2.8 yards per carry in Week 1. Last year, he averaged 7.8, which we knew was not sustainable. Expect an average close to five moving forward.
59.7% -- The Los Angeles Chargers' near 60% pass rate was only 14th in Week 1, but that is a huge improvement from last year. Herbert could be the best value QB this year if that continues.
5 -- Josh Allen had five rush attempts inside the five-yard line in Week 1. No other player had more than one.

TE Preview
Numbers to Know
35% -- Dallas Goedert led all tight ends with a 35% target share last week.
21.7% -- Noah Fant tied Ja'Marr Chase for the team lead in target share at 21.7%. He ran more routes and played more snaps than Mike Gesicki. It probably only matters in deep leagues, but it is not nothing.
4.12 -- Brock Bowers averaged more than four yards per route run. If he hadn't gotten dinged up in the third quarter, we would be celebrating a 20-point week.
82.6% -- Travis Kelce still ran more than 80% of his team's routes, despite his low target total. I am starting him with confidence this week.
5.3% -- Lamar Jackson only threw one pass to a tight end in Week 1. A trend to watch for Week 2.
100% -- Juwan Johnson was the only tight end in Week 1 to run a route on 100% of his team's drop-backs.
19% -- Kyle Pitts' 19% target share and 83% route share was impressive. Watch the injury reports closely on Drake London and Darnell Mooney.
37.5% -- Tyler Warren was targeted on 37.5% of his routes. It's wheels up for this rookie

Check out the data dump podcast on Yahoo from today. There may be a version on Yahoo"s website. A lot of great stats in there.
