Brate or Tonyan

Brate or Tonyan to back up Waller when he misses games
Both have good QBs that are hurting for weapons.
Tonyan may be more utilized in the red zone but coming off an injury
Brate could see a ton of targets with Gronk gone

I wouldn’t say the Bucs are “hurting” for weapons.

I doubt Julio stays healthy most of the year and is Godwin even playing week 1?

In either of these scenarios Brate is the 5th option. You’d be holding your breath for one of his three targets to be in the end zone, and for him to catch it.

Brate and Gronk last year combined for 152 targets

Do we expect Tampa tight ends to garner more or less targets this year? My money is on LESS. No Gronk, who was far better last year even in his old age than Brate. Brady had the 2nd most pass attempts in a single season ever.
Brate hasn’t commanded more than 60 targets in 4 years. Kyle Rudolph will play plenty of snaps. Brate will catch a tuddy here and there but I’m thinking it’s a perfectly forgettable season for him

Ok man. If you want to draft Brate, go ahead.

He would be backing up Waller which would mean I’ve already drafted.
That being said, I dropped Tonyan for Brate, Tonyan will start off slow and may not even play week one so I’m not worried about him getting snagged of waivers.
But Brate on the other hand could catch a TD week one and would get snagged quickly. If he does well enough it could be trade bait
