First Round Discussion - Favorite picks after top RBs are gone

I am in a keeper leave and I draft 6th overall. I am keeping Dalvin Cook in the second round. I like to double up on rb but I’m expecting the top tier to be gone. I am expecting Kamara, Henry, chubb, Gibson, and Aaron Jones to be kept and CMC and Zeke will be gone before my pick. What running backs do you like in the second tier outside of the guys above and why? May find myself going receiver. Won’t really know until I see it play out but interested in takes on the other running backs in the second/third tier.

CEH- Expect him to get a lot more involved in the passing game this year
Carson- If he can stay healthy, he’s the clear top dog, not many others with that type of certainty, high TD potential
Montgomery- Showed big improvement and I think the offense will be better with either Dalton or Fields, also a clear top dog
Davis- not much competition, will probably ride him into the ground this year and replace him with a young guy next
If we are going beyond the second tier, a few sleepers I like:
Jamaal Williams- Swift seems injury prone and think he will have flex value even when Swift is healthy
Hubbard- Immense handcuff potential, might be worth stealing him from the CMC owner, potentially using him as trade bait if CMC gets banged up
Lamical Perine- Jets are a total crapshoot and I think he might get a shot, really think Carter is being way overdrafted
Samaje Perine- Mixon is injury prone, no Gio, had a very good end of last year, not sure if Evans is a threat or not but worth a flyer very late
Eno Benjamin- Cardinals have a whole bunch of meh at the position, had a good preseason outing, think he might get a shot at some point

Ekeler should be in the conversation especially if it’s a PPR league.

I feel like Ekeler is the next best and safest option.
I think Montgomery has a chance to break out this year. Just don’t think I would want to take him that high.
I like Najee too but he is unproven.
JT worries me. He has a good situation but I don’t trust Carson Wentz. Could see a lot of stacked boxes especially if Wentz gets hurt which he probably will.

Need to keep an eye on him. He limped off the field after one play this weekend and he didn't practice today with "soreness." May just be a precaution, but have to keep up with what's going on with him.

Najee...a bit of a reach, but could pay off.

Ekeler small frame under roided out muscles won’t hold up
Garantee injury

I like his upside as a workhorse. It is little bit of a reach but being that it is a keeper league they will already have 18 players off the board by my pick. He will also be my running back 2 next to cook. But I kind of feel like I need to take Hill or Adam’s if they are available. Diggs is going to be kept. I hate going wr early though bc I typically hit on them later in rounds bc the position is so deep.

I have said this for years but hasn’t come to fruition yet and continuously drops 30 points against me quite frequently

Happened last year
I owned him, he missed what felt like most of the year

I’m taking Adams befor saquan, Elliot, Jones, Ekeler, Chubb and Harris. Maybe even Henry.

Good stuff here. Out of the entire draft I'm having the most trouble trying to rank this group of RBs. I have 1st pick overall and I'm starting to think I should really grab my RB2 at the 2/3 turn.
CEH - a tier above the others IMO. If he's there it's an auto grab
Montgomery, Carson, Dobbins and Swift (I don't like Swift at all) are in a tier below CEH. For whatever reason I've never been a fan of Carson so I tend to lean Monty out of those 4.

I would be happy with zeke, Jones, or chubb in that order. I think Zeke will be gone and Jones and chubb will be kept though

I’m not a high on CEH. He struggles to punch it in inside the redzone and chiefs are just as happy throwing the ball all over the field.
Had him in one of my leagues last year.
