Like the people still saying no kicker ever has any value?

I see one post saying kickers aren't important. Not sure what you mean.

The other thread was full of that

I’m not even arguing kickers are important. Kickers 2-15 are mostly the same. But Greg is scoring so much more than any other kicker. Consistently outscoring your opponent’s kicker by 4 points makes a huge difference

I'm not saying having Greg wouldn't be nice. Nobody is saying that. But he's still not more important than adding a top 10 WR as a flex player.

I traded Antonio Brown for GZ in one league. I’m very happy with my decision. Brown only had like 7 points last week, while Greg had 17. Won me my week!

Do the math. In 10 team leagues, Greg's points above replacement is more than the Evans' over the standard flex receiver

Your logic is flawed because not everyone has a top 30 player as their flex. And having multiple players that you can play on any given week is more important than having the top kicker.

You aren't comparing the two positions properly.

Hell, I wouldn't trade away a top 30 player for GZ.

On average, every team actually has either a top 25 RB or WR in their flex. Divide the top 25 RBs and top 25 WRs by 10 teams, and every team has a player in the top 25 at their position in their flex spot. So even if your team is crap, you should have a top 30 player at their position, considering on average every team will have one of them too

And you can say I’m “not comparing the positions correctly” but points above replacement is what we look for in every trade. The team taking Evans and giving up Greg loses that trade most of the time, based on point differential. You keep saying my logic is flawed, but your argument that I’m not comparing the positions correctly isn’t giving you extra points. All you get overall in this trade is depth at the position, which doesn’t matter as much in week 11 when bye weeks are almost done. Yea, you can have coverage in the case of an injury, but I wouldn’t stack my bench and have my starting lineup lose points on average bc I’m betting on an injury with only 6 weeks left in the season

That is just not true as good teams typically have loaded benches as well and shite teams are starting DeSean Jackson in their flex.

This is where your argument fails. The teams at the top might have more top 30 players than the middle of the road team.

My Wr's in one league are

Tyreek hill
Golden tate
Doug Baldwin
Sterling shepard
Corey Davis
Josh Gordon

Most of the teams in that league aren't nearly as well off, which is why I'm tied for 1st in that league. Some teams only have one top 30 player at the RB or WR position. Sure if you average everyone out then it works out like you say, but that's not reality.

I've got Will Lutz in that league, and I wouldn't trade any of my WR's for GZ.

The guy in that other thread would have had 3 Wr's in the top 15 if he would have taken Evans.

In another league I've got 4 receivers in the top 22. This is a 12 team league. I wouldn't trade any of them for GZ either.

Yes the best teams will have more and the worst will have less. So if the team trading FOR Evans is good at WR, he has even less value. But he has more value for a team that has shitty receivers
