Rondo was top 15 before he missed time.
Melo has been ranked in the top 20 in past years, but he is having an off year. DEN is playing terrible.
I dont think anyone in this league would trade either for a hurt Gordon straight up. He just doesnt have the resume' of the other 2.

did it that sound ridiculous? that if EG was healthy, there would be no reason for me to take the FT/Points hit from Rondo, or the assist hit and FG pctg hit for carmelo?
port has already offered a MUCH better trade than you.
your values are out of control.

Problem solved. SFP continues to be a man of the people.

not in a way that would effect his value as a keeper.

Mine, and Rondo's, and LE's. Apparently I'm not the one being irrational here. Port also said he would want a pick for Melo or Gordon. YOU are the only one who thinks otherwise.

So what you're saying is that Redd should pay premium value for a guy because he isnt in the running this year?
Your needs are more pertinent to this deal than his are IMO.

i'm also the only one not falling all over themselves about player reputations.
Gordon > Rondo and Anthony RIGHT NOW.
Gordon's upside is greater than both of them as well, as both have them have statistically capped out.
I'm not giving you a premium on a better player in a KEEPER league when that player's current status has no bearing on your current position.
I defy any of the above mentioned guys to go do a player eval on the trade and tell me that you deserve a pick.

Redd what are you looking to get for Melo?
Posted on 1/26/11 at 12:56 pm to LSU Fan 90812
i love Gordon, and I am not one to get caught up in names, but I don't think his values are out of control at all.
I wouldn't trade Melo or Rondo straight up for a healthy Gordon.
Now that he is hurt, I dont see how asking for a pick is out of control. He just doesnt have a track record.
Answer this, what player, next year, is more likely to see a drop off? Melo, Rondo, or Eric Gordon?

False. If they all got together and played TODAY, Gordon would have the following stat line
0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

I'm not interested in trading Melo, to be honest. I even told him that Melo was out of the question. I was considering a deal with Rondo, but not straight up.

No.
I'm saying that Gordon is better than Melo. He plays a more rare position, contributes to more rare categories, and in effect does the things that Melo does well, as well or better than melo (score, get to the ft line).
I'm saying that because of that for the purposes of trading with Redd, and since his season means nothing.
Temporarily Injured Eric Gordon represents an upgrade over healthy Melo going forward. For his team's future.
That the injury is what brings Eric Gordon down to Melo trading level as a KEEPER. And that thats' what would make the deal fair and worth doing.

This is all moot (and inaccurate), because I already told you that I wasn't trading Melo. The discussion revolved around Rondo.
