mlb.TV game changer

Anyone tried this yet? Apparently works with mlb.tv and jumps around to your custom list of players. You can set priority for certain situations: ABs, RISP, or set it to your pitchers if none of your guys are batting.

We have been discussing in the trade room moving to a free agent acquisition budget (FAAB) instead of a free for all for transactions.

This would be a daily or nightly waiver process players would then either goto free agency until the first game of the day (my choice) or lock until the next waiver process 24hrs later.

quote:

Bidding
Choose this option if your league uses a bidding system to claim Free Agents, within a given budget. All teams must enter a bid amount for Free Agents they wish to claim. On the days that the bids are processed, players are awarded to the teams that bid the highest on them, given that they have enough money remaining in their Player Claim Budget.

By default, a blind bidding system is used. No bids are revealed until the time when all bids are processed, and then only the winning bid (including the bid amount and fantasy team) is displayed. If you wish to use an open bidding system, check the "Show highest pending bids" option
.

A unanimous vote putting this into effect for this season would be tight.

It's not real money. This is just a way to level the playing field for free agents for those owners who dont "waste away in an office" all day.

Good deal. 7-1 now in favor of FAAB. Need 1 more for quorum and a landslide of votes in opposition to keep the current system.

Thoughts on initial budget? I like 1000. Gives for more precise bids.

More the better, also a big proponent of allowing for $0 bids

With 9 votes, FAAB has passed. We need to work out the details soon (today) before the draft finishes

My proposal:

-$1,000 initial budget ($0 bids allowed)
-10AM central daily FAAB run
-players not picked up go back to waivers. IE the only way to pick someone up is through a bid. Initially i thought everyone should just become free agents until first pitch, but have had a change of heart. Reason being if news breaks in the afternoon before first pitch, it would still be a race to the wire. I'd prefer everyone who clears waivers to just go back eligible to be picked up the next morning

Thoughts?

I don't like that you can't make moves after the FAAB run until the next morning. I'd prefer players remain FA's until the first pitch excluding the ones that were dropped.

Draft is complete. 448 players are rostered. Everyone should have 28 players.

I set up waivers to run at 10am central daily. For some reason when you put in a waiver claim it says it will be processed Sunday at 3am. Not sure what the deal with that is. Gonna play around with it a little more.
