I saw this kind of thing happen for years, and it reflects that getting a bye in fantasy isn't nearly as useful as a bye irl. To balance it out and reward the season leaders, I modified the rule in my league so that a team who gets a bye may use either their bye week total or their current week total for their first playoff game. Their opponent may only use that week.
