Is there such thing as a dumbass question when it comes to fantasy football?

Draft Chuba Hubbard late to handcuff CMC in case that happens.

There aren’t many

But asking who to draft with 1.01, in a 1 QB league in 2021, is one of them.

Asking if you should draft Mahomes at 1.01 in a 1 QB league is coincidentally enough another one of the few dumb questions to ask when it comes to fantasy football

Fair enough. I’ll wear that badge of honor proudly. Would you go McCaffery-best available RB or McCaffery-best available WR or just straight best available with 2nd pick?

Yes.

Take Travis Etienne first and show your league that you aren’t fricking around.

Take the best available. If CEH or Mixon don't fall to you, I think the best available will be WRs or Waller. RBs are important but I wouldn't reach down the board to take Montgomery or Carson if that means passing on McLaurin/Ceedee/Allen/Waller. CMC and two badass pass catchers wouldn't be a bad way to start the draft. Lock up RB position when it gets back to you in the 4th/5th because they won't be around much longer.

Well you pick 2.10 and 3.01

I would make sure I left the first 3 rounds with 2 RBs in your situation

There’s a gigantic drop off for RB after thaf

I drafted Murray with the 2nd pick in the 5th round hoping a starting RB would fall back to me; that didn't happen. After Mike Davis was drafted early in the 6th, all that was left were handcuffs or committee backs.

Some RBs that were available in the 4th/5th that I passed on:

Gaskin - Henderson - Harris - Swift - Hunt - Edmonds

I just liked the WR I got and Murray more than any of those. That decision cost me RB depth. So at RB I have Cook, CEH and 4 backups

Take CMC and Chuba late.

I paid a lot for CMC last year only to lose him the 3rd game. Davis didn't replace all of his points but did enough to get me to the championship.

I'm keeping CMC this year because I am playing to win and assuming the best with respect to injuries.

You can't predict injuries, so play to win and hedge with Chuba.

Much appreciated!!!

That has been the story most years in this league. If you don’t draft 2 RBs you won’t get them the rest of the season outside of a lop sided trade or shear luck picking up a handcuff after an injury. Needed that reminder

Is he the ONLY answer though? Is he unanimous here as the no brainer first pick?

In 2 weeks I’ll be sitting here with Chubba Hubbard watching Kamara and Cook drop bombs while trading my best WR for an RB2. Perhaps I need to quit over thinking and just get a massage and a bj. I’m drafting Johnthan Taylor.

In half or full point PPR he is absolutely the no brainer first pick. No PPR you could make an argument for possibly Cook or Henry. I would still probably go with CMC though.

Depending on your spot, who is available, and how others are drafting all have an impact on your pick. I don’t necessarily like your pick because you don’t get a strong second running back, unless your league is full of Tacos.

With your pick being 1,24, and 25 here is a likely scenario.

1. CMC (no questions asked)
2.(24) CHE, if he falls to you here
3. (25) Justin Jefferson

No need in drafting a tight end here with Kelce and Waller (possible) likely gone. Also I’m assuming an idiot will likely use an early pick on maholmes. With your position, I would go CMC, then RB/WR, or WR/WR if no good backs are available.

Helpful???

I'm picking 2nd overall, this is exactly what I'm doing.

Every one has injury possibilities, CMC had one unfortunate year and they were out of it so they didn’t push him back. But the whole blame us schtick on here if he gets injured is how you guarantee no one will want to help you in future. Cook has a much larger injury background. Don’t be a dick.

No. It’s not unanimous. One guy wants to pick Mahomes #1. But he has never won his league in like a decade or something so I wouldn’t listen to him.
