In the 1970's Kige had a brief career as a daredevil before retiring early after wrecking his motorcycle while attempting to jump the Ohio River.
His career did last long enough to inspire the Evile Kige motorcycle toy from Mattel. It had a limited production run and was only sold in Kentucky.

Kige wrestled under the name Pigiron Ramsey for a small regional promotion in 1976. He earned a belt as half of the heel tag team The Kentucky Headhunters. His career came to a abrupt halt on a November night in Memphis when Rowdy Roddy Piper shattered his coccyx with a folding metal chair.
