im not underwhelmed because i dont eat it often. i only crave it when im trashed. sober, it doesnt appeal to me.

and, you sound like you eat too much sauce on your food. you also sound like you should stop spending your money on things you dont like.

That's not true. Izzo's used to be $4.75 tax included for their tacos, now they cost over $7 after tax. No drink or chips included in that price. Much higher inflation than what Cane's has done.

Izzo's was under-priced at that time.

Cane's has been over-priced for years. And then the tenders get smaller and the prices go up. At least Izzo's didn't cut back their portions when the price went up.

Izzos has gotten stinger over the last few years. The one on Burbank used to load you up now they use those stupid scoops.

Sorry you're a fry cook at Canes. Maybe they'll make you cult manager one of these days.

Not even close. You sound jealous of success.

The cost of food everywhere has gone way up in recent years for a variety of reasons

Hell, if you go to Quiznos you are lucky to get out under $10 with a decent meal

It really has become absurd in some instances

According to who? Just because it fits your argument?

Again, according to who? BK, McD, and all the rest charge about the same amount as Cane's for a chicken strip combo, so either they're all overpriced, or, and this is just a maybe, their prices just are what the going rate is for a chicken strip combo.

McDs and BK have such diversified menus that the can slowly work in price raises, and go largely unnoticed. Theyll also heavy advertise something else to divert attention.

I remember eating at Cane's back when they just had the 2 locations outside of LSU. . .

Many drunken nights were spent waiting in line at 2am, and I swear it was the best food ever! (that, and Louie's, but I digress. . .) From what I remember, the prices were great too- $6 for a box and drink.

Now that they are literally at every corner, the allure that was Cane's has dissipated. Prices went up, quantity went down (-1 finger and less sauce), and now it's just another choice for fast food.

The nostalgia is gone.

So you're telling me that excuses their price increases? And you're also going to ignore that it turns out Cane's prices are actually pretty in line with the going market price?

This is true. Whenever I need to eat lunch for like $2 and think I'll pull it off at these places, I hope I'm not hungry because all I'm getting is a dollar menu small fry and whatever chopped onion sandwich they're selling at half price. A decent sized meal still costs about $6 or so.

No, just saying their prices don't increase as dramatically as Canes. They also usually don't take portions away.

Well Cane's also hasn't increased their prices as often as the majors, so I guess it comes down to which you prefer. Apparently you prefer constant incriminatal increases to make you not notice things are changing.
