I really don't like that place. I've had two very negative experiences -- one at the Downtown location and one at the Perkins Overpass. And the pizza is not that great.
First time, I had an expiring $100 gift card a former employer gave me for Christmas. So I invited a bunch of friends out one Wednesday night to the downtown location so we could burn it up. We were about the only customers in the place and the waitress wouldn't come over and take away empty beers, beer buckets, pizza pans, etc. We had to run all those back to the bar.
Second time, there was a pub crawl at the Perkins Overpass one Friday night. I ordered a slice for a friend of mine and had to wait forever because they were so understaffed. The waitress tells me "Sorry about the wait. I'll give you the pizza for free." I told her, "Nah, it ain't your fault you're understaffed because the manager doesn't know what the hell he's doing." Some douche in a hat, guess he was a manager, tells me. "You got that kind of an attitude, get the hell out of here!" So I flipped him off and walked out.

Anyone ever have Johnny D's on Coursey before they ABRUPTLY shut down with no explanation? That place was delicious. Dude must have been involved in something. We ate there weekly. Week prior we ate there and it was totally normal. Next week we went there and there was not a piece of equipment in the joint and they looked like theyd been shut down for weeks. The owner had some shitty red sports car with red rims that had little pizzas on them. Haha.

Just not true. I went to NYC last week, had pizza at one of their top joints, it was very good, but nothing that is so amazing that it can't be matched.
May I ask where? I will say that the NY pizza thing is one thing I have never understood. Yes, there is very good pizza to be found here (obviously), but the natives are adamant that it is the best in the world. IMO, most of it is overly doughy, and topped with too much partial skim faux cheese.
As for Schlittz and Giggles, I've never been, but as someone alluded to earlier in the thread, I just cannot get over the stupid name.
