Avery has now advanced to the Top 6 on Masterchef Junior. The next episode airs tonight on Fox at 7:00 p.m. for those who can tune in. Watch party tonight at Mellow Mushroom on Burbank in Baton Rouge.
225 Magazine ran another great article earlier this week about the last episodes and her "one-legged pony" comment. Pretty funny stuff but maybe we'll not worry about the backstory there. Here's the link - 225 Magazine
Avery had one very special guest last week at Mellow - Chef Jesse Romero of Baton Rouge who competed on Masterchef earlier this year. Avery had a great time with Chef Jesse. Who knows what special guests may show up tonight...
One interesting note - a few episodes ago the show brought on several grandmothers the kids all served. If you caught it, when the grandmothers all walked in, Avery referenced them by saying "darling." That was actually a nod to her grandmother who, being from New Orleans, always says "yeah, dawlin'..."
For those interested, Avery will be at the Red Stick Farmers Market in Baton Rouge this Saturday morning at 10:00. She'll be making shrimp and grits.

Apparently, Avery slayed her pirk belly dish to make the final top two! Good for her! Still think they favor Addison.

I really thought they wanted Addison & Zack in the finals... But evidently the Pork Belly was the best dish and they couldnt keep her out! Great!
I agree tho, Ramsey - the very least - seems to favor Addison. I think Christina likes Avery tho.
Mucho kudos for her making it this far. Proud of her. Ronnie even got to make an appearance this week! Ha.

I can't really 'hate' on kids on a cooking show, but they were easily the two I was pulling against the most. The editing has definitely favored Addison so far, hopefully Avery can pull out another spectacular dish and win it all.

Her shrimp and grits were really solid.
She's been great on the show and it was cool to see her in person at the farmer's market demonstration. She introduced herself at the one the week before as well. She's made an impression on my 9 year old, who's really started to take an interest in cooking. Seeing someone her age on a national stage has been inspiring to her.
We'll probably be at the watch party Friday cheering her on.
