I think I stayed there years ago. Decent old place with character. But the elevators were slooooow.

I used to groove on Uno's when I lived there. As others have mentioned, Chicago "pizza" is very deep dish and a whole other animal than you're probably used to, and Uno's is a good representation.
The pizzas don't look as appetizing as a thin pizza because all of the ingredients are on the inside. Good luck finishing one.

I prefer Lou Malnati's to the rest.

If the OP likes craft beer, I highly recommend Haymarket Brewpub, just outside of the loop to the West... cheap cab ride.

Not a big fan of Lou Malnati's. Giordano's is where its at in my experience.
Also, if you have half a day to kill, the Chicago Food Planet walking tour of Bucktown/Wicker Park was amazing ( Food Tour). My wife generally hates guided tours but this one was really awesome, even in the heat of summer. Its also a chance to see some of the life outside of the city.

If y'all want a nice meal, check out Les Nomales. Probably one of the best meals that I have ever had ..

My brother has raved about this place. Also check out Piece Brewpub and Pizzeria. They have awesome pizza but it's not "chicago style".
Ironically i was watching The Layover the other night and Bourdain asked people in a bar if local actually ate deep dish pizza. One guy raised his hand. The rest said no locals really eat it.

These places were both great. Piece was one of the stops on the food tour. OP should definitely try Purple Pig as its probably a 10 minute walk from his hotel.

I took the train from New Orleans to Chicago and it gets off right by a Giordano's...It was a fantastic place for pizza and getting a drink. The wait staff seemed liked they had worked there for years, and were very knowledgeable and social. I would highly recommend it

In all honesty, I'm more of a fan of Brooklyn style pizza
