give it a light rinse with some water and rescrape if necessary,

i pour a big cup of water on the hot griddle and a lot of the sugars and stuff float up. then scrape it, wipe it dry, heat it up add a coat of oil and let it burn in. let it cool and cover.

It's the singular, most versatile outdoor piece of cooking equipment.

if you are going to be using more than 1 skillet inside it is easier to use and clean the blackstone

Plus you can cook breakfast for 10 at once on it including a whole lot of bacon which makes a big mess otherwise.

I use a 24"x16" cast iron that I just place on my grill grates. I'm guessing it's essentially the same as the Blackstone.

Love it for smash burgers, hashbrowns, bacon, pancakes, etc.

I have a Loco….bought it about 3 months ago. I can’t believe it took me so long to get a griddle. I use it 3-4 times a week.

I have a 36" 4 burner from Academy, Outdoor Gourmet. My only complaint is the position of the grease trap which is on the front left and easily bumped or knocked off. We've cooked just about everything on it. The 36" is huge with both side tables on it, but also gives a lot of space to move things over to a keep warm area.

I use something similar now. My Blackstone didn't make the trip down from Virginia. It's nice but for a big meal for a bunch of people that 36" of cooking surface is hard to beat.

Get one, you won't regret it.

As many others have said I cook on my blackstone a hell of a lot more than my traeger now.

Late bump, but curious if anyone can provide input on durability of black stone griddle being outside in south LA? Received one as a gift and will have a cover. Planned on keeping it outside but not sure if it would be okay with only the cover and not under a roof of sorts.

TIA

Just be really diligent with cleaning it and oiling it after every use.

If I wanted to make a jambalaya on it using a Dutch oven on the blackstone. Do you all think that would work? Would like to brown the shite out of some pork and not smell up the house and not have to clean my stove top.

It should. Bruce Mitchell did some but in the mini foil grease catchers. I've also seen him cook in pans right on the cooktop.

I just baught a 36" Blackstone about two weeks ago.

I love this thing! It's amazing how versatile the griddle is. The best things I've done so far are smash burgers (three times) and fajitas - marinated flank stake from Costco (twice). This morning our family did pancakes, bacon and sausage.

There are several really good YouTube channels about griddle cooking and the Blackstone YouTube channel has several informative personalities - including one of the Swamp People guys - who evidently doesn't own a shirt.

ps. my wife says to add how much fun "team cooking" is .
We made a big triple batch of chicken-fried-rice, both of us worked the grill and it was a lot of fun.
