Columbia Restaurant

We visit Anna Maria Island, across the bay from Tampa, every summer. We always go to the Columbia at St Armand’s Circle in Sarasota. It’s a highlight of our trip.
We want to go to the original location in Ybor City but I have viewed a few posts where it gets sketchy after dark. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get into Tampa to try it out for lunch.
For those of you that have been to one of the locations, let me know what you think of the experience.
While certainly not the best restaurant been to, it’s been pretty solid. Last night we shared chicken croquettes, sautéed shrimp, and crab cakes which were all very good. I ordered the Grouper Jimmy, sautéed with lemon butter and topped with blue crab, and my wife and daughter split a Bambino, 20oz strip steak. We loved both entrees.

Ybor City
If you can make it down Bourbon, you are fine. We didn't experience any hostility and were never threatened. It is lively, but safe. Like when we went to Colombia and people thought we were crazy.

I went to this restaurant several years ago when LSU played Iowa in the Outback bowl. I enjoyed it very much.
