Not to be rude, but she probably doesn't know how to care for the cookware she bought.

You can't use metal utensils on non-stick cookware, and is she washing/drying them in the dishwasher?

One cheap non-stick skillet or other cooking vessel should last at least a year.

No offense taken. You're probably right. She's pretty well set in her ways. The scratching thing is probably from using a fork to scrape eggs while she's cooking them. I was mostly looking for a thicker cooking skillet for her since she mentioned warping and she wants something that will cook evenly.

I don't think she's ever used her dishwasher. She hand washes everything so that's not a problem. Metal utensils would be a problem though.

Le Creuset

I have the 5 qt braiser and I use it for everything.I also have the big dutch oven and it looks like the day I bought it 5 years ago. They clean really easy and you can put in the oven and cook up to 450 deg.
If you can find a outlet store you can get it for 30% off in certain colors. They are worth every penny if you cook more than twice a week.

There is an outlet store in Park City, Utah. My brother lives near there and occasionally will bring me down a piece. So far I have the large saute pan, the cast iron grill pan, and the cast iron skillet. In purple! I don't even use my old POS cookware anymore.

If I were you, I'd consider buying her a decent non-stick skillet and some nice wooden cooking utensils.

It's the best way to cook eggs.

If she doesn't use metal, it'll last a long while.

Best of luck.

Maybe some silicone utensils as well.

I think going from a fork to a wooden utensil might be less of a shock to her system

Right! I stopped reading this post after your post. Case closed. I use cast on most everything. You can't beat it if you know what your doing.
