Just got my first pot & burner went with an 80qt. I'm in KY these days but figure like Keakar said better to have more pot than I need than not enough. Academy had a combo that looked to be a good price:
OG 80qt + single jet burner
Now I just gotta search around here and get a good recipe.

Do you live here in louisiana and plan on doing more boils? If so, I would get an 80 qt pot because you will be able to do a full tradional sack in this(which is usually around 35 pounds)
I think I am going to get a 80 quart pot so that I can boil a full sack of crawfish if needed.

There's nothing wrong with a little pot w/basket for small batch crawfish but especially good for shrimp. I have a 110Qt for normal crawfish boils but I have a 32qt stainless pot with basket I got off webstaurant store and it's the tits for shrimp.
I also sometimes use the small pot for "kids fixins" if they corn/etc are going to be too spicy for the chirrins.

If it takes 10 gallons of water to boil 1 sack in an 80qt pot, why would you need more water in a 100qt pot?
Larger pot has greater circumference. Same amount of water will rise to a lower level in a larger pot... which might not be enough to cover all the stuff. Larger pots also have larger baskets so most of the time it balances itself out.
But what's the harm in adding 25% more water and 25% more seasoning?
