I find that Dempseys serves some of the best vegetable sides in town. If they come out of a can first, so be it.

Honestly, the couple things we have that come out of a can are really good to me. The green beans come out of a can, but they taste nothing like canned green beans I've ever had at home/school/etc. They're really spicy.
I am unsure where the lima beans begin, but they're awesome too. When people make a disgusted face at lima beans being the veggie of the day, I make sure to let them know it's not the lima beans they're thinking of. They're mushy and spicy.
My favorite veggie side that we do is the baked squash and zucchini. When I describe it to people, I never use that name. I tell them that is is squash and zucchini baked in marinara sauce with a parmesan crust similar to a veggie lasagna. I sell way more than I say it that way

I stand corrected. Dempsys uses salt and pepper.

Yeah its damn good, im usually a "sub the white gravy for brown" guy but theirs is solid

Gotta be honest.. and I feel terrible saying this.. but I prefer the chicken fried steak at another place which I won't name better. Our's is too spicy for me.

Wrong. So good. You haven't had them done right. No sticking and stringy.
