Just finishing lunch at Die Historische Wurstkuchl zu Regensburg in Regensburg, Germany. It is at the foot of the city’s Old Stone Bridge. It started as a food stand for the workers who built the bridge in the 12th century and was the “go to” place for the workers who built the nearby Cathedral in the Middle Ages. We attended Easter Sunday mass in that majestic church. .

It is a beautiful sunny day so after mass we stopped at the restaurant where most of the seating is outside.

The specialty these days is those little bratwurst sausages served with sauerkraut and sweet mustard. Very tasty.

This was the oldest restaurant I have ever eaten in.

By the way, I am on a Viking river cruise.

My parents are going on one in June and I am so freaking jealous.

The sausages you had were Nürnberger Bratwürste; they are very tasty. The recipe dates back to 1300. Regensburg is a beautiful city, glad you're enjoying your time there.

My wife and I ate at what was claimed to be the oldest continuously operated restaurant in the world. It was in Paris, and had what was supposedly authentic letters from Voltaire and Marie Antoinette (among others) framed on the walls. It's claimed that Thomas Jefferson dined there. I was surprised that the service was so friendly and the prices were reasonable. We had coq au vin and it was very good. Le Procope was the name, check it out if you make it to Paris.

Yes. I have been to LaProcope. In fact we were staying in an apartment right down the street on rue Mazarine. Beautiful interior and ann old historic place.

Rule’s in London is another one like that with delicious food.

Cool. Paris is one of our favorite places, so much to see and so many food possibilities...

In Seville, we have a relatively "new" restaurant, El Reconcillo. Has been in operation for over 4 centuries, and the food is very good and very reasonably priced.

There is a restaurant in Salzburg that Charlemagne ate at. We didn’t eat there but we did get to walk in to look around late one morning as they were setting up for lunch.
