gotta go to Bears. USED TO BE Best RB in the city

Bears is pretty good, especially with jalapeno rings on it. Their roast beef is a little too thin, IMO.

Their RB needs some salt but I have to say that a large surf n turf from there has never done me wrong.

There good but I've just seen the prices go up and the po boys get smaller. My office is down the street and I've seen this happen over the last year. Too many other places in the area that are just as good.

I've always thought that their roast beef is cooked perfectly, but it's bland.

Definitely bland. It was just one sample for me - who knows, maybe I got some left over from the previous day that had simmered too long.

As for MaHoney's, I've had that once, and the beef was chunky (good), but also bland.

Only thing worth getting at Mahony's is the root beer glazed ham and cheese...$6.95 isn't outrageous, but I may make it there twice a year

ETA: Keep in mind, I mean WORTH getting...

Parkway is the Pho Tau Bay of the local po boy market. At one time they were considered the best because there weren't a lot of other options. Now that there are a lot more options, they are still good, but there's better out there.

Place re-opened in fricking 2003 bro.

Not sure if you're directly responding to me or if its just because I posted last, congrats on finding a review that agrees with you though.

We at at Darrell's in LC recently and got "the special" with jalapeno mayo. It was off the hook! The gravy was awesome and we had a pile of napkins on our plates by the time we were done. Would highly recommend this place for a killer poboy.

I heard a rumor that Mahoneys is gaining a partner(big name).... It's not the same guys who were originally trying to buy it.

They also have good gumbo, and the pastrami and corned beef poboys are top notch.

No more pastrami. Ask them to bring it back next time you go.
