Great call on Hogfish, but if they are only in KW for 1 day, might be tough. Man that place is good though. Schooner wharf bar is a cool place to hang out too. So many great options, you really can't go wrong

Our favorite meal we had while in Key West was from Santiago's Bodega, we both thought Louie's Backyard didn't live up to the hype. Amigos Tortilla Bar(across from Captain Tonys) had some really solid tacos as well.

Was told to go to Hogfish by a local but didnt make it.
Latitudes is good. Just keep checking Open table over and over. That how I found a reservation like the day before.
Hogbreath has suprinsgly good food for what is a bar. Was fairly chill at lunch. Imagine it gets rowdy at night.
Lots of places on Duval to eat.
Bistro 245 was good and has a good view if the cruises arent in.

If you go to Captain Tony's you can sit in Mike leach's barstool. I think he has a labeled one there. Unfortunately it isn't occupied anymore.

Hog Fish Bar & Grill on Stock Island, FL

Hog Fish Sandwich
This.
If you hit the Kies Fishery in Marathon, and you have $30 you don't mind spending, try the lobster reuben. It won't disappoint.

True. We caught it as we were driving back to Miami.

Biked there from Key West Duval St area. That and El Siboney were my two favorite places.
I found anything else around there that tried to go more “upscale” a bit lacking.

For breakfast go to the “breakfast club too”.
There is a great Cuban place with live music right by Mallory square (el meson de Pepe). Watch sunset in Mallory square then walk like 100 feet to the Cuban place.
Non food:
Hemingway house
Mel fisher museum (like 17 dollar entry but lots of cool Spanish artifacts).

Shrimp Shack in Islamorada. On the recommendation of our charter captain, we brought the fish we caught on our charter trip and they prepared it "continental style." It was one of the best things I've ever eaten.

7 Fish was probably the best meal I had in key west. This was probably ten years ago, so not sure how it is today.

Square Grouper is a great place too. It is in Cudjoe Key, I have had a few great meals there. A bit of a drive from KW, but, could end the night there, if you are only in town 1 day.

Louie's Backyard was waaaaay over rated. We were so disappointed. Hogfish Bar & Grill was great. Keys Fisheries in Marathon was outstanding.

We were there for a week last January so we ate at quite a few places.
