What are burger tips? I would imagine it will be a similar experience to most burger joints. Assuming you have had a burger before.

Anyone who says Fat Cow is bad or average can't comprehend the quality of artisan burgers.

I think Fat Cow is alright, but I hate the terms "artisan/gourmet burgers"

Make sure to get a specialty burger or a salad. Their regular burger is OK but what they excel at is the specialty toppings.

My favorite is the muffaletta burger.

I guess my comprehension level is poor.

That's exactly what they want you sheep to think.

The idea of out of the ordinary toppings on a burger is great. But when the actual patty itself isn't good, it doesn't matter what you put on it.

Possibly. But anyone who says Fat Cow is bad or average can certainly identify a crappy burger when they taste one.

I like the way you think.

These burger joints are geniuses from a business standpoint, I guess. Open a nicely decorated specialty burger restaurant (which is a relatively new idea still) in a place that isn't necessarily a "foodie town".. People buy into the marketing and think its gourmet and amazing.. Even going as far as to accuse those who don't like it of being unable to appreciate good food.

Its pretty interesting that simply by acting as if you're the best, people buy into it.

Fwiw, I grab fat cow from time to time. But each time is so "meh" that I don't see myself going back anytime soon.

You also have to factor in that's it's located near, and marketed to, college students. Who aren't the most experienced or wise consumers.

Don't go. Overrated and over priced. Service is horrible.

Anybody who says Fat Cow is bad has certainly never had a truly bad burger. I can buy "average" or "unremarkable" or "overrated," but not "bad." I think they would get a better response if they didn't always overcook their burgers. That's the one thing that has always bugged me about them. I go about 2 or 3 times a year and I don't leave there nearly as pissed off as some of the people here. But I also don't find myself clamoring to go back either.

well they are still in school, so they can't know everything.

I still think Rauls ground chuck is the better burger for your buck and I love the decor.

That's what I was initially referring to in my post, but honestly on further thought, it would have the same effect anywhere in Baton Rouge.

I had the unfortunate honor of having been Facebook friends with local radio stations/news stations, and there are times they ask the public of BR where to get the best _____ .

The amount of people that name shite places is astounding.

I think Fat Cow could make the general public think it's "gourmet" just as easily as it has made college students think it.
And like I said, using creative ingredients that are supposedly fresh and locally sourced is not something I'm hating on. It's just that the burger itself has the oddest taste I've ever experienced with a burger. You can throw goat cheese and fois gras on it if you want, but the patty isn't good :/

I don't like Raoul's either and I don't understand why people think it's the best thing on earth.

The texture is not desirable to me either. Glad I'm not alone.
