Get more officers, directors, etc to take some of the load. No one made them quit their day jobs. It a 2 day event.

I'm not sure how this would save money. Unless you are saying just get more people to work for free.

Back to the food. Saturday our team (RugarouxQ) is again serving up pulled pork etouffee over pasta, and a pulled pork pimento grilled cheese sandwich that was a hit last year - Louisiana Lady named it her Saturday favorite (Thanks!) - picture below.

Friday night we'll have Kemchi Bacon Monteleone (new dish). Booth B23, between the Bud Light and Luzianne stages. Come see us!

Boards are normally volunteer leadership. I don't know any 501.c's paying for officers down here.

Boards, yes. Officers and day-to-day employees? No way. I was on a board for 8 years and our Executive Director had an annual salary of 160k and worth every penny. How else can you compete with the private sector?

Officers are normally board members.

ED/CEO/Presidents are salaried positions that normally are accountable to a board.

If you put a chairman of a board on salary there is something fishy going on.

Your unfounded allegations verge on a smear. If you have legit evidence of malfeasance or improper finances, provide evidence. What you have is a difference of opinion about how a charity is choosing to compensate its founders, who also have significant roles as producers, planners, and visionaries.

Again, if the salaries pain you, don’t participate. But to suggest that paying people who are actively involved in the charity’s operation and in its signature fundraising event are committing wrongdoing crosses a line.

Note: I have no connection with HFTC. My entire career has been spent in nonprofits large and small.

I am not pointing my fingers at anyone so I am not sure what you are talking about.

I have no idea of the board structure of Hogs and AM NOT assuming anything, nor did I say anything about their specific board structure.

I did copy and paste their current board but have no idea how their charter or bylaws are structured.

That said, if you have spent that long with non-profits and are saying what I am saying is incorrect about the separation of employees and board structure then so be it.

I’m not saying much but I have extensive background as well.

Yes, teams are actually selling tickets to their parties. You have to have a Hogs ticket to get in the main gate and then pay extra to the team to enter their party.

This is very good information to know. Thank you

If any F&DB baws are selling tickets to a good party, I may be interested.
