I thought Izzo's was miles ahead of either of those two joints. Except Moe's had better queso, almost like Qdoba has better queso.

Izzo's had better meat, much fresher vegetables than either Qdoba and especially Moe's.

Comparing Izzos to Moes and Qdobe is like comparing a dynamite sandwich shop to Subway or Blimpie

you will enjoy Izzos....

to answer your original question, its a "roll your own" burrito place...they have fresh ingredients in a line like a papa murphys or subway...you tell'm what you want on it....as big as you want it....and they will roll it up for you.

the nachos are rockin, too.

i like the burrito in the bowl....all the schidt you would put in ur burrito, just .... in a bowl.

Moved here from an area that is Izzo's-less. People at work were telling me about the "illegal". Took one down my first trip there (im 6'1" 190). That thing was a challenge, but VERY good.
Highly recommend. Just might go tonight.....

I used to think so, but then I discovered authentic mexican burritos

Most authentic Mexican burritos I've had consisted of left over pot roast or similarly cooked meat with fresh tortillas the next day. The only real thing I've ever seen my mom cook for a burrito is potato and cheese, or chorizo and potato/egg/beans.

I think that Izzo's certainly has its place and is decent.

The one in Metairie was supposed to be open by the end of January. I called two days ago and they told me it wouldn't be until early April

Agreed. I go to Izzos on average once or twice a week. Love that joint.

let us know about the metairie location. I live about a mile from that location so I'm sure I'll be a frequent customer.

I got hooked on Chipotle, Illegal Pete's, and Qdoba while living in Denver.

he said everything is ready to go.....just waiting on Jeff Parish for the final rules of the building code.....no gas yet......they have been waiting on them for quite a while.....its JPs fault they arent open yet - not surprising tho.

they are hopeful for the week of March 9th.....optimistic for the week of March 16th

I will post when they know for sure....but Im sure he will have signs out front when they get the green light

Izzos is ok. They have alot of toppings to choose from their queso sucks though and they dont give you hardly any of it to begin with.

^^^This. The meat at Izzo's is just a lot better but you pay for it. Moe's did have great queso, but aside from that it was nothing special.

The best thing at Izzo's are the hard taco's. You have to wait a bit but it's worth it.

I love Izzo's. As for the shits, some people on here must have some problems that I don't.
