Please…HRL made plenty of money…Lyondell had the place “for sale”’ nearly a decade.

Lyondell wants nothing to do with things that aren’t plastics or chemicals.

If it was such a drain on their bottom line they would have said yes when Motiva offered to buy it.

There are a couple of those in the Exxon Baytown complex and Lyondell’s Houston Refinery they just decommissioned for no good reason.

There was a giant one in St.Croix (American territory/protectorate), but the local USG always had their hand out and it was moth-balled about a decade ago

You’re talking about the Limetree Bay refinery? There was an attempt to restart the facility a few years ago…my old general manager left to help startup operations there.

The local help, was…lazy as frick.

Then they had an incident that sprayed oil on the neighborhood near the refinery…hasta la vista after that one.

Like actual downtown? An uber the frick out of there to a respectable part of town with establishments not overrunning with riff raff and ne’er-do-wells.

Go to Kirby Ice House…everything around The Village is…less than desirable.
Just go to the bars in the Heights off 19th and 20th. There’s a bunch all concentrated in a 2-3 block radius there.

8 Row Flint, EZ’s Liqour Lounge, Heights Bier Garten also located in the Heights.

Kirby Ice House either in River Oaks or Heights.
That Christmas which is also on Netflix is pretty good too.
Kroger and big box stores like Walmart and Target are pretty comparable in terms of quality of produce and meats…I shop at Kroger twice a year…when they deeply discount rib roasts.

In no world, if you live in Texas and have an HEB within a reasonable, convenient driving distance pick another grocery store. HEB’s produce, meat and seafood, bakery, deli, literally anything that doesn’t come prepackaged in a box are vastly superior there.

Hell I’d pick Joe V’s or Mi Tienda before I did my weekly grocery shopping at a Kroger.

And then of course, Central Market is the gold standard for walking into a grocery store, dropping 100 bones on three items and being completely ok with it.
Had a good meal at Delacroix when I was in town over thanksgiving.
I mean I get where you’re coming from in the sense that most aquaculture is terrible…but let’s not act like shrimp in the wild behave wildly differently in terms of diet.

They are bottom feeding scavengers.
Correct…Bakery Donut on 11th is a prime example…the owners a good people.
Shipleys bacon, egg and cheese kolaches are elite.

Everything else there is mid.
I’m of Mexican heritage and was running the skreets of New Orleans all last week…didn’t see ICE or BORTAC at the Roosevelt, R&O’s, or Delacroix (great fried fish collars btw), or the movie theater in Elmwood.

Maybe they’ll get me come Christmas time at the family dinner at Herbsaint.
I remember during COVID buying these from 44 Farms was such a great deal…6 hanger steaks and 6 pounds of ground beef for 100 bucks.

Chow fun
Dan Dan noodles
Red oil dumplings
Salt and pepper anything…eggplant, shrimp, chicken wings
Curry fried rice
Crab rangoon
