It’s bread, meat, and cheese. What’s not to like? Granted, I’ve had some great kolaches and some meh ones, but even the meh ones were pretty tasty and always cheap enough that they still felt worth it.

One of the very few sausages that has the unique trait of being so good that, like bacon, if you wrapped a turd in it, you’d eat the turd without hesitation.

This works at Kolache Kitchen

Yes their broccoli, egg, and cheese ranchero is really good. Their breakfast tacos are decent, too. But definitely stay away from the regular kolaches. All bread.

I was in Baton Rouge this last week for Thanksgiving. I asked my mom for Kolache at donut store (whatever the donut shop right outside of CCL). They don’t even have them there. They really didn’t even know what a kolache was.
In Texas they have them everywhere. They are great. I can’t believe Louisiana can’t figure this out.

Yeah most of the little Asian joints around me sell the good ones. It’s all about the bread to me.

I live across the bay in Daphne. Where do you get these? The only Asians over here to my knowledge cook take out with that same menu you see all across the country.

Lickin Good Donuts mainly. There is one in Robertsdale I believe. But there are several in Mobile. I find the Dauphin Street location behind the Chicfila to be the best.

There is a donut shop in Spanish Fort by the rouses that sells them also but they aren’t quite as good.

Are y’all really saying these originated in Louisiana? I am 50 years old and was eating these in La Grange as a kindergartner from a bakery there. Louisiana did not start these.
