Yes, Covington. Probably the best selection of both wine and beer in the state. I stock up every time I go see my parents.

Outstanding! I hope they enjoy them as much as I did.

Wow, that's about $10 higher than I would have expected.

Thanks for the list. This will help alot being that Boones Farm was previously thought of by me as one damn fine wine.

Any suggestions on a great tasting but not over priced champagne for the season coming up. All i've ever tasted is the crap served at weddings.

Thanks again.

Goat, you want to serve a sparkling wine, but don’t want to spend too much, the non vintage Mumm Napa Cuvee M is a good choice. It retails for $20, but can often be found on sale for around $15.

TiLA, have you tried the 2005 Liberty School Cab? It can usually be had for around $15. It's one of my favorite low ends.

ETA: Chicken, we need a wine smiley.

I have tried it and I liked it. Liberty School cab is a very consistent wine from year to year and is a great value too.

If you go there ask for Adam. He is very knowledgeable. If you want to try something new just tell him what kind of wine you are looking for and what price range and he will hook you up with a good selection.

Acquistapace's has the best wine selection and prices period. Also have about 250 different beers you can buy individually to make your own 6 pack.

One of my favorites was recommended by him: Buena Vista Pinot Noir ($15)

Other good ones:

Marquez de Concha Cabernet ($15)
Rosso di Montalcino - 100% Sangiovese ($17)
Berenger Knights Valley Cabernet ($19)

Hey everyone, I just made a late change to the list. I added the 2008 Meiomi Pinot Noir, placing it at #10 on the list, bumping the 2008 Chateau St. Michelle Sauvignon Blanc to langniappe status.

Sorry for the confusion, but a good pinot noir for $20 and under is worth the trouble.

Depending on your price range:

Low end = Chandon
High end = Perier Jouet

I'm a fan of Chilean carmemere, but I haven't tried any of the ones mentioned in the article.

Apaltagua and Lapostolle are respected wineries, so at that price I wouldn't hestitate to buy one if you come across it.
