I used the $ 99.00 LOCO Turkey Fryer kit from Home Depot Thursday with No complaints. I have No complaints what so ever. Built in ignition and 350 degree temperature monitor was a bonus.

My brother in law used a Charbroil Big Easy propane-fired Infrared on Thanksgiving and quite frankly, it was just as good as fried.

I've got 2 oil fryer rigs and their capacity is good for about up to 15 lb. birds each-----at least that's my limit for size I want to cook and a tight fit in the pot.

With the price of peanut oil now, I almost wish one of them was an oil-less fryer. It would cost at least $80 in peanut oil alone to set both of them up today.

I was deathly ill last week, so I had to purchase my two fried turkeys I’d committed to the family gathering. It’s likely I have fried my last turkey, and I’ve been doing my own since the 1970’s. Oil has gotten higher than giraffe you know what, a PITA to store in a small place, and lets me focus on the other dishes I’m usually providing. Got them done at Alexander’s Highland Market, and it was every bit as good as any I’ve ever done.

The last 2 Thanksgivings I've been recovering from 2 nasty ankle surgeries, so I didn't have my typical T-Day party where as many as 25 folks showed up. I've also been frying birds for a few decades and the price of peanut out is silly now. When the cost of one container of oil costs more than 3+ turkeys, it's time to rethink it.

I baked a 15 lb. bird this year but usually fry 3 for my party and about that many more for neighbors and friends.

I didn't miss all the work I put into the party to be honest and then $400+ I spend to put it on since I supply all the food, and the menu is pretty extensive.

Last year I wet brined and smoked our turkey and it was a hit and left the frying rig in my shop gathering dust.
