Sam Adams is probably the only one left that's widely avaliable yet still American?
Shiner is pretty widely available, no?
Are any of the really cheap beers American owned? Or were they all owned by the big 3?

Uh, Yuengling.
America's Oldest Brewery.
Hard to top that, really.

Anheuser-Busch will still brew all of their beer in the US. Yes the parent company will be overseas,
but the ingredients and labor to make the beer will still be US. A lot of people slam Bud & Bud Light for whatever reason, they are the 2 largest selling
beers in the world.

I've got nothing against the Sam Adam's and Abita's and Anchor Steams of the world, but drinking those beers is like drinking a glass of oatmeal. After two, I wanna unbutton my pants and take a nap.
That's why I drink the Bud Light. I drink an average of once a month (including tailgating season, so that means I go months without drinking during the off season). And when I do, it's usually mass quantities over a long period of time. NO WAY I could put down a 12 pack of Abita or Shiner Bock AND eat tailgating food on a Saturday in September.
This development really saddens me. It's like finding out your lifelong best friend joined the Church of Scientology or molests farm animals or something.

Try Abita Light. It's the best beer they make and kicks the shite out Bud, Coors or Miller's light beers.

It can be done, give it a try at a cooler weather tailgate this year and see for yourself. I like having a mix of several styles to choose from during the day, and you can drink certain kinds of beer with different kinds of food throughout the day.
We've been doing four or six six packs of assorted imports and crafts between four or five guys at our tailgate for the past couple of years. Stuff like Mackeson XXX Stout, Anchor Steam, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Rogue Mocha Porter, Abita Purple Haze, J.W. Dundee's Honey Brown, Sam Adams Boston Ale, and up and down the spectrum. Scotch Ales, Christmas Ales, Blueberry Ales, Belgian dubbels, Belgian tripels, whatever works. We even did a keg of Anchor Steam for the Florida game last year (had five friends in from Florida at our tailgate), but even I will admit that it was just too hot to handle that at that game.

Give Yuengling 1-2 years until they get here...that is a safe estimate from a good source.
I agree about Sam Adam's and Abita being heavy...they great thing about Yuengling is its light and refreshing but really flavorful...you could put 12 back with no problem (which is why I always have a ton of it on hand at my house).

Try some other, lighter beers then. Shiner makes Shiner Blonde, Saint Arnolds makes Fancy Lawnmower, and I know that others on here can recomend more. These beers are made for exactly what you are looking for. There are so many different good beers out there that there is simply no reason to drink bad beer.
If you look for something new, ask around. Let people know what you like to drink, and they can recommend beers that you will probably like.

It is the best IMO. But I'm not a fan of Amber, and Turbo Do. Been a while since I've had Abita Wheat.

You should probably switch back to Zima's and Jolly Ranchers.

You could also drink a few high gravity beers like Delerium Tremens and be like this
in about and hour. That beer also is terrific...its worth the $3-4 price tag.

That is some of the best news I have heard in a long time. I love that stuff and it is one of the only beers my girlfriend will drink with me (she is more of a mixed drink girl) and it is great and cheap.
I hope you are right about this!
