If he is anything like me (and that would be a gift from the gods) he had probably already been to sleep for a few hours, woke up, and then couldn't go back to sleep

Meat coma sounds a little gay. Good food?

I walked/occasionally jogged 5 miles at a park. It was so freaking cold.

BBQ meat coma

Beef rib, pulled pork, smoked chicken, burnt ends, sliced brisket

This place sells top notch BBQ (rated top 10 in Texas), makes and sells their own chocolate, and sell fresh roasted coffee

It is ridiculous

Good morning, y'all.

Random: do you guys feel hungrier when you exercise more? I've increased my physical activity a lot this month, but I've noticed my appetite is also increased. It makes sense physiologically, but it's annoying, nonetheless, and makes it harder to lose weight. I'm used to not feeling particularly hungry, so I don't really track macros. Will this eventually level out as I adjust? Or do I need to bite the bullet and track macros to make sure I'm not going off the rails?

that is normal. your metabolism is ramping up

it will level out, but right now you really have to make the best energy choice possible. stick with high proteins that allow burning of excess fats

You're right. I've gotten used to eating whatever in smaller quantities & maintaining. I will be careful & eat more protein til I adjust.

I'm using this cold weather to induce excessive shivering. The calorie burn is considerable

I think this Dr. Eric Berg fellow is a good source. He explains things well in a concise manner so as to not be a bore. He does suggest a keto diet with a lot of veggies and IF.

That last video includes a nice little run down on insulin and insulin resistance too

The thermogenic approach. I can get behind this.

This is what I try to do. I think I'm snacking more than usual. I'm not gaining or anything, but I'm hovering at the top end of my normal 5 lb range even though I don't feel like I'm eating more than normal, and I don't like it. I'm going to pick up better snacks, and maybe increase protein in meals to stay full longer.

Fat makes you feel full longer. Lean protein is high insulin...
