Word of advice..... Bent over row tabatas may not be the best idea.

Almost passed out, almost puked, and slightly tweaked my lower back.

yea never do any exercise that can put your back in a bad position using the tabata method, your form will degrade. If you want to do bent over rows in a on/off fashion use the every minute on the minute or death by protocols. and keep the time limit short as shite.

Also not a good idea to do them after already doing two other back tabatas. The pump was insane though. By the end of my workout my forearms were so fried I couldnt even hold my water bottle.

Just sharing this post from my facebook feed. I usually do a long fast the day after my carb refeed, so this supports that thinking.

Yeah. I noticed it helped after the pizza debacle.

I ran 3.5 miles this morning. Finally devouring some food after a 16hr fast. I'm actually enjoying this.

in the book called Xtreme Fat Loss Diet on my drive by John Romaniello he talks about the feast fast strategy. here is the article where he does in overview of it and tells a story about how he first started developing the program.

so even though it can be seen as a penance or sacrifice there is actual science behind it and seems to work good. Especially with the gastric intestinal side effects and the bloat that comes with a cheat day especially one that involves alcohol.

My new program calls for an "as many reps as possible" to finish off my 3x5 (2x5 + 1xAMRAP) I experienced something new on Monday while finishing up an AMRAP set of squats.

Towards the end I just started to get a sharp headache on the lower back side of my head running down through my neck. as my heart rate slowed down the pain went away. No issues yesterday during my workout though. I have deloaded quite a bit after my shoulder issue and having nearly 3 months off from the gym, so it's not like I was lifting anything crazy. Pretty sure I have to adjust my breathing on those big sets because I was doing my standard "inhale, hold, squat.....exhale at the top" That doesn't work so well around rep 10 of a 3rd set.

I've done a 16hr fast everyday for the last 10 days or so.

It's just part of the routine now. Not hard at all. It gets easy after a few days.

Amazing bubble we live in where people actually think not eating from 8 at night until noon the next day is a hardship.

Do you find yourself having a hard time getting to your daily calories. I used do a 18/6 schedule and would have to force myself to eat before bed.

I assume you are doing the Greyskull LP by the description. You are getting a headache due to the pressure build up. Johnny has talked about in the podcast shutting the set down at 8 similar to how he programs deadlifts. Main thing is you have to learn to stop between reps and take a few breathes.

but imo you are missing out big time doing that as in my experience legs respond much better to high reps. So to get the best of both worlds you could try going straight 3x5 and then a set with lower weight trying to get 20 breathing squats in. Progression in both would still be linear but only go up max 1.25 lbs per side on the 20 reppers or you could go up by 10-15 lbs at lower reps and just add reps every session.

I personally do a 20 rep widow maker set using my rodgers squat pro but I understand most gyms don't have one. but it makes it safe in case I pass out, even safer than a power cage. I also do sets in the FST-7 fashion where its 7 sets of 10-12 reps with a very strict rest period of 45s. Gives you a pump in the legs like nothing else. I have been sore for days since the last session.

I do at times depending on my appetite for the day. Protein shakes with added fats like grass fed butter and mct oil or added carbs like oat starch powder or sweet potato powder have been the key to me hitting my macros when I am at high calories and macros.

Now right now with cutting I was getting everything in easy but last few days have been hard as hell and instead of choking it down I have gone back to protein shakes. Seems to be helping especially with me doing at least 18 hour fast everyday.
