My Sunday carb cheat was solid...family gathering.
Mom's homemade lasagna, some kibbeh nayyeh (raw kibbeh), zaater bread (homemade dough), and I made the corn & crab bisque.

Tomorrow is leg day. I usually indulge in some heavy carbs on leg day! Kind of excited

So I'm trying to go super low carbs right now. That's the keto thing, right?
Do y'all have tips? Recommendations? Best alcohol for this? Obvious beer is far and few between, how about fresh made margarita? Old fashioneds?
I have a big sweet tooth I've been suppressing for a few days now. What is the best way to help this sweet tooth? Also, what is the best fruit for this? I eat a lot of fruit.
Any absolute avoid meals?
Thanks for any info

no fruit on keto, unfortunately, besides a small amount of berries
if you must satisfy the sweet tooth, sugar-free jello. Halo Top ice cream. So Delicious No Sugar Added ice cream.
Or try your hand and making a low carb dessert recipe (suggest alldayidreamaboutfood website)

I think I'm going to try keto later in the summer after festival season is over. Too many events going on right now for me to avoid cheating all the time.

I don't see any info on alcohol on there. Am I missing something?

Leave it out for a couple of weeks.
Then have a vodka and tonic.

Jameson and ice, or neat if you want hair on your chest.

Don't drink for the first few weeks, after that stick to liquor, mostly. A glass or two of red wine won't kill you, either.

My advice is if you try keto be very strict for the first 3 to 4 weeks. No beer....no cheat meals.

tonic full of sugar.
Vodka and SODA
though I partial to Jameson on the rocks.

Guess I'll start drinking my case of ghost now to get rid of them.

I'm not a big fan of Jameson. I like wheated bourbons the most. Makers or W.L. Weller are go-tos for me.

That's what I meant. Soda
Not tonic.

This was a cheap, easy, delicious dinner that took 5 min to prep and about 25 to make:
Three sheepshead filets: $9
Three crab cakes: $7.50
Green beans: $.99
Leftover sausage from a crawfish boil: $1
A little garlic from the boil: $.20
Lemon: $.50
Wrap the crab cakes with the filets, wrap with butchers twine, pat of butter over the middle, cap with a lemon disc:
375° for 15 min, remove the lemon, and then go 10 more minutes
Serves three, or just me and my wife.

Someone on the zero carb Reddit posted about the lecture called The Oiling of America - Westen A Price. Really good talk about the skew of today's medicine and diets. It made me really crave steak and cream.
Just go back to eating awesome. Eggs, steak, heavy whipping cream. I didn't, forgot, to eat today until i got home.

That's brutal. It wouldn't satisfy my sweet tooth, but it might cure it.
On a side note, I am at 160.3. Lowest in easily 20 years. I was at 215.4 about 18 months ago.
