Great idea bring lawsuits to a major employer and large tax base of the state.
This whole lawsuit is ludicrous considering how the state acted on mid barritaria.

Actually ended up taking a good long nap today after getting the heifers feed and new wire set up.
Torn between killing and cleaning or going to bed early. I brought an Abita to celebrate the season, deer or not.
With the dry winter so far the clover came up late. The deer typically will go after the clover in the pasture in the daytime. This year I don’t think I saw a deer in the pasture after November 1st.
I heard from other the deer were moving in the woods, I hope they get two.

Last deer hunt for me this season. Cold but manageable. Lower 30s.
Good luck everyone.

I came out right as the rain stopped to see if the hogs came around. Nothing yet.
I’ll switch to deer at light. If you’re wondering, the deer have been in the pasture all night the past few days and bed down early.
Hoping to get another deer today.

What's it like to own a ranch? Well, it’s an honor. Wife’s family for 3 generations. Then another farm even further back.
Do y'all still use cowboys to round up the cattle? No. Cowboys are an old tradition that doesn’t make cents. There are smarter ways to move cattle and not stress them out. If they are stressed, they don’t gain as much and hurt profits.
Is it profitable? Yes. We have to be very strict on inputs. Right now working on not feeding hay during the winter and grazing stockpile. We won’t make it this year but every year it improves. Grazing grass is much cheaper than feeding hay.
Do you keep exotics around to make more money or for hunting leases? No. We have old friends of the past that are allowed to hunt for mechanic work, welding, other odd jobs which works out.
Did you inherit it or did you buy it as an investment? Wife inherited. Being paid off is a huge blessing. There are still people out there who are buying and still making money on livestock. They aren’t millionaires either, but I respect the hell out of them.
Do y'all sell 1/2 a cow or a 1/4 cow or "humanely slaughtered" beef to the hipsters to up your margins? We do
Do you love it? Absolutely. We work all the time. The thing is no one is our boss and reporting to no one but yourself. We have the same outlook for the farm, so we don’t fight over goals or definitions of success. Really just looking at increasing the heard size but being extremely picky on who we are keeping. We may introduce some south poll bulls when the prices go down.

Federal aid programs funded by Congress via The House. Once funded, the executive branch then has the authority over distribution.
Please tell me how the move by the executive branch is unconstitutional.

Will be a nearly 72hr hunt fest. Trying to get one more for the freezer. I was wondering how the storms would shake out for us and they’ve held.
I’ve got hogs I need to take care of probably early tomorrow morning if the storms provide a break.
I’ll probably break down the doe from earlier in the week tomorrow late morning.

Bro’s over here bitching about a dip in soy when us ranchers deal with dip cycles every ~10 years.
Your crop insurance premiums is over 50% covered by US taxes. Don’t worry, we don’t supplement our cattle with soybean.

When meateater was heavy talking about cwd I wondered how they’d track their knives and ice chests. It does sound like cleaning methods are available.

If it’s that big of a deal to you, you should have been up front in the beginning how much it means to you.
Playing nice is fun and all until it’s not. Maybe you should have brought this up sooner.
