You'd think he would have planned it better. Eat a Fugu liver as his coup de gras or something.

That Eunice episode was the best representation of Cajun culture IMO

Do we know when the Mardi Gras episode will air?

The person who told me said he hanged himself, but I haven't seen that in the headlines I've read, or the article I linked.

This one is tough. I had a lot of respect for him as someone who had battled his demons and emerged stronger and smarter and with some great stories to tell. He really seemed to have found peace, but obviously those demons are always lurking.
Also hard because my kids, who are into food and travel, love his show. They were aware of Kate Soade because my wife is a fashionista, but they feel like they know Bourdain. Will be the first suicide that hits this close for them and hard thing to discuss.

Wow. Sad day indeed. I really enjoyed his Travel Channel "No Reservations". Never know what goes on in others minds. He seemingly had it all. All an illusion. RIP Tony.

Extremely. Most have no idea.

This one's hard. He'll be missed. I doubt I'll get to eat in 10% of the places he visited, but it's always nice to dream.
He did give my husband one of his favorite lines in the Christmas episode from a few years back. Talking about the Christmas tree "dropping needles like a junkie on a tilt-a-whirl!"

Man this sucks. I thought Bourdain was excellent once you understood his attitude. I know he battled with addiction in his younger years. One that he was very lucky to outlive.
I loved the fact that he had such a deep affinity for places such as Vietnam, France, and some smaller places where simple food was innately intertwined with the more rustic populace. The greatest thing I could ever say about the man was that he had a great nose for "Meat in tube form!"

He loved that chicken at Popeye's.

"To me, Popeyes is exotica," Bourdain told People. “I was eating noodles and roast goose and Chinese food for the past 10 days. So to be back and eat some Americana food, well, I will weep with gratitude at macaroni and cheese.”
