Avenue Pub had Southern Tier Pumpkin on Sunday.

I was there on Friday and she was pushing pumpkin beers on me as a walked in covered in sweat. I told her I just biked across town in 100 degree heat and the last thing I wanted was a pumpkin beer. The thought of pumpkin beer at that moment made my stomach turn.

I think she's running into some resistance on pushing those so early in the year. It does appear to be a trend elsewhere, though.

CJ at the good Calandro's said the Southern Tier Pumking is still in transit.
I picked up two bottles of the New Belgium pumpkin beer this weekend, but I'm waiting until it cools off a bit before I crack it open.

That one sounds kind of interesting actually.

Somewhat tart sounding. I need to look back on their Lips of Faith Kick beer and see if they just combined two beers or started seasonal production of that lips of faith release.

I assume Louisiana will get Pumking this fall? I'm excited to start seeing pumpkin ales hitting the shelves. I just picked up a 6 pack of Schlafly Pumpkin Ale today.

good call, I forgot about that one.

Looks like Kick was a 75/25 blend of a pumpkin/cranberry beer and an Oak Barrel aged beer. Kick was also 8.5% ABV, compared to Pumpkick at 6%.

Maybe Pumpkick is the pumpkin/cranberry base beer?

I had a bottle last week and thought it was good. The pumpkin and spices aren't over the top like you find in a lot of pumpkin beers.

I think that's the one she was trying to sell me the other day.

Side story from that day related to pumpkin beer. I'm at the bar eating and and a big group comes in. One guy orders a Bud Light. She said, "I only have it in a bottle. No draft. Is that okay?" The guy thinks for a minute and then asks what else she has on tap. She said, "I have this pumpkin beer we just tapped this morning." I kind of perked up. I think to myself what BMC drinker is going to want a pumpkin beer? I'm a damn beer maven and I don't even like pumpkin beers. Lo and behold, this guy says he wants it! Color me shocked. I felt a little ashamed of myself for judging this guy like that.

A few minutes later he comes back up and orders a bottle of Bud Light. I look back to see one of his friends with the pumpkin beer.

Probably so. Kick was really good when I had it two or so years ago. If like some more.

I'll give pumpkick a try.

Bottomland

lol.

He didn't know what else to order so he would have got whatever she offered.

It's all over the shelves here in atlanta, ridiculously early this year. I am tempted to set some to the side for the fall

I also have a 2012 bottle. Was only able to grab one last year...hoping waiting a year was worth the wait.

Also have a 2012 Pumking in there as well

I've had the original pumpkinator (DR 9) a couple times recently. It is drinking fricking fantastically right now.

I overbought on the 2012's; think I still have three or so left. Almost burnt out on them.

I think you have the sibling to one of my Pumpkinators. They have gotten better over time. Just too damn hot right now I guess.

I still have 5 pumpkinators, though 3 are bound for Mississippi, one is headed for Thanksgiving dinner, and the other will be aged a while
