I think a Dave & Busters in Baton Rouge would be overrun with a less than desirable crowd pretty quick. We don't go to the one here in Houston at night for a reason.

My ideas (some have already been mentioned):

A gray's papaya type place (cheap/good hotdogs)within walking distance to campus.

A country music bar/BBQ joint close to campus (alot smaller than the texas club).

A good bagel shop/deli

I would open a good hot dog stand like Hot Dougs in Chicago. Serving good dogs and good sausages in a good location. Not a metal shack on O Neil Lane although their's is good they limit the menu.

Not sure in this economy if I would open much else.

There is a very common complaint on this board that is orders of magnitude greater than anything else, the lack of quality Chinese food.

The atmosphere/aucousitcs are terriblle, don't think I've ever been in a restaurant where I felt the crowd more. My group got several common dishes, Kung Pao chicken, General Tso chicken and neither were very good. I'm sure they have some good things on the menu, but they'd need to get those 2 right before I'd consider them good.

I think the Shed in Ocean Springs would make a killing if they had a couple of acres on Nicholson near campus.

How about a sushi place? Baton Rouge has to have room for one more!

We stopped on the way back from Pensacola this summer...food was really good, but expensive for a bar-b-q image. I paid almost $30 for a baby back rib entree. The concept is pretty simple. We didn't stay for the live music, but it looked like they do the outside stage very well, and the bands listed to perform looked to be respectable. I would go again for the food and the music, but you would see complaints on this board that they are an expensive place to eat.

I used to love D&B when younger, and in Houston, Dallas, or Atlanta. But, I always thought BR to be too small previously. And the food is merely decent, not a destination unto itself.

It will be a nice expensive addition to the Celebration Station, Dixie Landing, Chuckie Cheese,etc..for parents shopping a party location.

seriously, when is the last time you have been to a Chuck E. Cheese or Celebration Station? Even Dixie Landing?

For whatever reason, after the first few montsh it always ends up with more black patrons than the surrounding area would indicate.....and i wonder if the Perkins row white patrons will then abandon the place and it might go under?
