Wisconsin will be a surprisingly great setting for this season. Madison has one of the best farmers' markets in the country, Milwaukee has seen heavy revitalization over the last decade+, and, aside from cheese, you'll see more of what makes Wisconsin a fantastic place (Door County cherries, supper clubs, fish fry, etc.).

But you're absolutely correct about the quality of the contestants too. With Top Chef, you get people who have worked in a Michelin Star restaurant or who are James Beard Award nominees, as opposed to Hell's Kitchen (which I enjoyed on occasion), where you get contestants who work at the local dinner buffet or who are line cooks at Denny's.
