interesting thoughts on the career move.
i soon have a feeling i will grow bored with the company i work with. they promise to move us around in the company every 2-3 years, but that's not true.
and like you, until all the fricking old shits my dad's age to finally stop being greedy retire. moving up the ladder takes forever in this environment.
i have been pondering up business schemes as well. hoping one day i find my get rich quick idea.
i soon have a feeling i will grow bored with the company i work with. they promise to move us around in the company every 2-3 years, but that's not true.

I'm not bored most times but there are a few issues. I'm one of the newer people at my position and they continuall give all the big projects to other people and leave me out of the loop, then shite breaks and they look to me to fix it. WTF...how am I supposed to fix or even troubleshoot new software when I wasn't involved in the project to start with? My boss knights for me tho and gets me involved and has some projects thrown my way as much as possible. I get taken care of come review time on my bonus so it's not all bad.
Unfortunately there's not even a promise of advancement. Raises and bonuses, sure but unless you actually get promoted to a higher position there's a ceiling on my money, and no one above is leaving any time soon.
I'm not looking to get rich quick, just make a lot more money a lot quicker
Gramps threw some figures at me that dropped my jaw and he's not one to BS. I'm thinking if I can do 1/3 of what he was forecasting my family and I will live comfortably.
