Before the bad jokes of "more of the same" start showing up, they're making all of the right choices to make a modern Borderlands game, and I'm 100% on board.

It isn't like they were going to change the art style to something more lifelike.
The main problem is replacing a villain like Handsome Jack. It is going to be hard to do.
If it has a good story, then who cares if the mechanics and gampeplay are the same.

I'm playing through Borderlands on PS Now and will then move on to BL2 for what has to be my 50th playthrough.
The game just never really gets old for me.

It was shoddy, clickbait journalism by Polygon and the like. No one that was actually looking forward to BL3 was upset with what was shown in the initial reveal.
Borderlands 2 was great and most fans of the series just wanted BL3 to be more of the same. They've done a good job implementing modern QoL features without totally eliminating what made the core game unique by trying to cram in the latest trends.
I think it will be a breath of fresh air in the modern AAA looter shooter genre.

So i had never played borderlands and saw the hype around 3 so i got the first two... so about halfway through the first one i realize they had remastered it 
too far for me to turn around. It was fun but also old and the graphics looked it.
playing 2 now and I love it. I'm usually not big on single player games but I play it every day when i get home from work.
Really excited about 3 now!

I don't have VR, and BL2 is the only non-sports game that I still play regularly.
I don't see that changing with BL3.
